Events

A creator can host events from their room, in person or online. Guests RSVP in AlfaClub and show a pass at the door.

Finding events

• In the room's chat, as an event card, and in the room's info under Events.
• On the Dashboard under Events: My events (ones you host or are going to), Global (upcoming public events, with search) and Past.
• In Explore's live activity.

Keyholders are notified when the room posts an event. The host's followers are notified once it's open to everyone.

Who can come

The host picks one:

Unless it's open to anyone, the host sets how many keys each guest needs, 1 by default. The host can let a guest in without keys, and guests added to an invite-only event don't need any unless the host says so.

The host can also:

• Admit only members who've held the room's keys without a break since a date. If you sell all your keys and buy again, you count from the new buy.
• Show the event to keyholders first, and open it to everyone at a set time.
• Set a capacity. When it's full, you can join the waitlist and get a spot if one opens. Keyholders move up first.
• Hide the guest list and show only the count.

RSVP

• If you don't have the keys you need, Buy key to attend holds your spot for 20 minutes while you buy.
• If the host approves your request and you still need keys, your spot is held for up to 24 hours. You're reminded when an hour is left.
• If you sell or send keys and drop below what the event needs, you lose your spot.
• Tap Can't go, Cancel request or Leave waitlist to give up your place.
• For in-person events, everyone sees the area. The exact venue and the door details show once you're going, unless the host makes the location public. Online links only go to guests who are going.
• Add the event to your calendar and get directions from the event page.
• You're reminded the day before and an hour before.
• Share that you're going makes a share card.

Your pass

Once you're going, open Your pass. Its QR code changes every 20 seconds, so show it from the app: a screenshot won't work.

Check-in opens 2 hours before the start and closes 6 hours after the end. If the event needs keys, they're checked again at the door, and only keys in your AlfaClub wallet count.

Hosting

Only the room's creator can host. Choose Event in the room's actions menu, then set:

• A title (up to 80 characters), cover image, start and end, and a description.
• In person (search for a venue) or online (a link).
• Door details, shown only to guests who are going.
• Who can come, the capacity, and the options above under More options.

An event can last up to 14 days and start up to a year ahead. You can have up to 20 upcoming events. Unless it's invite only, the event card posts in your room.

Managing guests

Manage event shows requests, guests going, the waitlist and check-ins.

• Approve or decline requests, with an optional note. Approve all holders approves keyholders' requests in order until the event is full.
• Add a guest by username. They skip the request. Let in without a key admits them without keys. It's on by default for invite-only events, and you can switch it for any guest from their options.
• Remove a guest, with an optional note. Their pass stops working.
• Add co-hosts, who can edit the event and manage guests, and door staff, who check guests in.
• Message guests sends a notification to everyone coming, up to 3 a day.
• Edit the event any time. A change that would turn away guests who are already coming isn't allowed.
• Cancel event tells your guests. It can't be undone.

At the door

Door staff open Check in and scan guests' passes, or search by name to check someone in without their pass.
